Brian Shropshire
My name is Brian Shropshire, and I am a 2004 graduate of the Finance and Credit Management program at Alexandria Technical College. I served as a DEX chapter Vice President, and competed successfully on the local, state, and national levels. I am currently employed as a Loan Officer with Pine Country Bank in Little Falls, MN.
DEX is something that I didn’t want to be a part of in college because I just didn’t have the time. In all reality, I just didn’t want to take the time. Now I sit back and ask myself “Would you be where you are at today if it wasn’t for DEX”? The answer I have for that is probably not. DEX made me stronger on the inside by helping me to become more confident in myself and in others. DEX helped me get over anxiety issues when I was out of my comfort zone, and it taught me that I can be me and be successful. When you take an organization full of people who respect you, care about you, and are willing to give you what they have to offer, and then combine them with students that want to succeed you end up with DEX. DEX means Professionalism, Team Work, Honesty, Reliability, and Dependability. I feel very strongly that without the DEX organization I may not be where I am today.
Nothing in life is just handed to you, but with the tools provided through DEX and all of the people involved, you will prosper, grow, and be very successful if you put your mind to it and put forth the effort and desire needed to succeed.
